Hungary’s Treasures Are Precious for All of Us

The traditional excursion organised for the spouses of ambassadors accredited to Hungary took us to the heart of the Bükk Mountains this spring. I was not the only one enchanted by the visit to the revived castle in Diósgyőr or by the natural wonders of the wild romantic Bükk mountains. Family members of diplomats in Hungary also showed great interest and pleasure in seeing these hidden parts of the country. It was a lasting experience to explore the knight castle in Diósgyőr of our King Luis the Great, to ride the forest train in the untouched wilderness, as well as to row on Hámori Lake in Lillafüred or descend into the depth of the mountain in the Anna Cave. The entire day was crowned by glorious sunshine and an exuberant mood. It was a joy to hear that Diósgyőr and the Bükk mountain stole the heart of our guests to such extent that they are happy to join us next year on what will already be the seventh excursion.
